Oregon State University research on Shaniko Wool Carbon Initiative published

This year marks an important milestone in our ongoing collaboration with Serkan Ates and his team at Oregon State University: the publication of findings from the multi-year soil carbon research initiative at Shaniko Wool Company. The research has been an ongoing, six-year project spanning 10 ranches across 7 western U.S. states. The goal has been to generate practical, producer-informed data on soil carbon dynamics relevant to sustainable rangeland grazing. Early results show encouraging trends in soil carbon storage, reinforcing the long-term benefits of our producers' ranching practices.

We believe that science conducted on ranches is essential to advancing agricultural systems and supporting the producers who steward these landscapes.

The article is published in the journal Agriculture, Ecosystems & Environment and available online here.
