Julian Land and Livestock
Julian Land & Livestock is a fifth-generation, family-owned sheep operation rooted in the rugged landscapes of southwest Wyoming. Headquartered near Kemmerer, the ranch manages about 10,000 Rambouillet ewes across a broad piece of the Wyoming landscape. The Julian family has built one of the largest sheep operations in the state through generations of dedication, stewardship, and deep knowledge of both land and livestock. Their sheep graze a diverse range of native ecosystems year-round, from low-elevation winter pastures to high mountain forests in summer, ensuring both animal health and landscape resilience.
The Julian family’s story dates back to the late 1800s, when William Julian arrived in Wyoming and began building his flock on open range. Today, the operation is led by Dave Julian, with family members Trudi, Garrett, and Marie actively managing all phases of production. Their commitment to the health of the land and the quality of their sheep has made Julian Land & Livestock a trusted source of fine wool and superior seed stock for producers across the West. The ranch’s purebred Rambouillet program is nationally respected for its emphasis on genetic quality and range performance.
In addition to sheep, the Julians produce high-quality grass hay from natural meadows to support their livestock. Their operation emphasizes both tradition and innovation, incorporating science-based grazing strategies and working closely with agronomists to manage soil fertility and forage production. Julian Land & Livestock is certified under the Responsible Wool Standard and Nativa™ Precious Fiber, reflecting their ongoing commitment to ethical animal care, land stewardship, and traceability. With a legacy built on hard work, community leadership, and an unshakable connection to the land, the Julian family continues to lead the sheep industry into a sustainable and prosperous future.
